Procentia wins Pensions Technology Firm of the Year at Pensions Age Awards 2024

Procentia wins the coveted ‘Pensions Technology Firm of the Year’ title at the Pensions Age Awards 2024.

Feb 2024: Held at the glitzy Grosvenor House Hotel, the annual Pensions Age Awards aim to reward pension schemes and pension providers across the UK who’ve excelled in their field.

Colleagues from Procentia, our parent company Brightwell and BTPS, dug out the DJs and frocks and set off to London for the prestigious gala ceremony.

Each category is extremely competitive and to win one award is amazing. But it was an outstanding triple whammy – our Group took home three! The cheers of delight were probably heard back in Bristol!

From an impressive shortlist of 11 companies, the judges selected us as the ‘Pensions Technology Firm of the Year’ category winner for our innovation in both the UK and overseas.

Our entry, covering successes and achievements over the past 12 months, “demonstrated significant development across a number of areas, setting them apart in the pensions technology space.”

What made our Group stand out from the crowd?

In 2023, we implemented our IntelliPen software for four new major schemes with a combined total of over 450,00 members. We delivered an online member-driven self-serve retirement process for BTPS, introduced an embedded AI-powered Identification and Verification process, brought three new Pension Risk Transfer products to the North American market, and were voted the number one ‘UK Pension Administration Software Provider’ in a Professional Pensions survey. Phew!

The praise kept on coming, and the champagne kept on flowing.

Brightwell won the award for ‘Pensions Administration’ for its overwhelming commitment to the member experience, with the judges saying: “A passion for administration excellence shone through in this entry, which demonstrated a refusal to settle for anything but the best for members.”

In 2023, Brightwell established a fully in-house contact centre, meaning that members are always speaking to an expert at the first point of contact.

The third prize went to BTPS, collecting one of the most coveted awards, ‘DB Pension Scheme of the Year’.

The judges praised BTPS for its huge efforts to drive improvements in member satisfaction. Over the past five years, BTPS’ general member satisfaction has jumped from 63% in 2018 to 87% in 2023.  This has been achieved through in-sourcing of key activities and significant investment in people, systems and processes.

Of Procentia’s phenomenal win, CEO Liam McGrath said:

“I’m delighted Procentia has won a Pensions Age award recognising us as the best technology company. It’s a proof point for our vision to become the global leader in PenTech. A big thanks to all our teams!”

Group CEO, Morten Nilsson, continued:

“All these awards are testament to the hard work of the entire team and reflect our commitment to innovation and excellence. I couldn’t be prouder.”
